A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The City of West Palm Beach is accepting bids from experienced, qualified and responsible contractors to construct storm drainage and roadway improvements as shown in the construction drawings and described in the technical specifications for the Project. Project Background: The existing stormwater pipe is located in the eastbound lane of 48 th Street. The 48 inch stormwater pipe is approximately 12-14 feet deep and was previously cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) lined. A pipe condition assessment performed by the City found that the CIPP liner in the east half of the block is buckling and has a potential risk of failure. The Project calls for the replacement of the existing 48-inch stormwater pipe from 640 48th Street to the west right-of-way of Broadway Avenue for approximately 510 linear feet, please refer to the limits outlined in red in Figure 2. The existing 8-inch vitrified clay pipe (VCP) sanitary sewer (main and laterals CIPP lined) is located near the roadway centerline at approximately 8 feet deep and is approximately 10 feet north of the 48-inch stormwater pipe.The water main is in the westbound lane. Available City records information indicates that the 6 inch cast iron pipe (CIP) water main was installed in the 1920s. All water services are copper. The City's records show there was no work orders for pipe repairs on the existing water main. Per a geotechnical engineering report performed in November 2019, the water table was found at a depth of 6.2 feet and 7.9 feet below ground surface in Borings B-1 and B-2 No interpretation or changes to the meaning of the Invitation to Bid will be made to any firm orally, except by written addendum. All questions that change the scope of work or alter the contents of these documents will be answered via addendum.
