The City of West Palm Beach is accepting bids from qualified and responsible contractors to provide tree trimming, pruning, removal, bracing and after-hours emergency services, on an as-needed basis. The subsequential contract(s) may also serve as the Citys emergency and disaster response contract(s). The City has a variety of tree and shrub species which will require removal, stump grinding, trimming and/or pruning. The selected Contractor(s) will be required to provide all labor, supervision, material, equipment, tools, supplies and incidentals necessary to perform urban forestry maintenance work in a professional and thorough manner. Since this work is of a potentially dangerous nature, and requires special expertise, it is to be performed by a licensed Contractor whose primary function is arboricultural service work and whose employees are highly trained and skilled in all tree service work. The City will require proof of Contractor's involvement in tree service work. The selected Contractor(s) will have the responsibility to remove or prune designated trees, reserve work space along streets, grind out stumps upon tree removal, remove excess material and clean site, guarantee specifications are being met and prioritize safety at all times The City of West Palm Beach is located in Palm Beach County, Florida directly west of the Town of Palm Beach and covers a land area of approximately 54 square miles. Tree services will be performed throughout various Cityowned facilities and locations within the City limits. On an as-needed, when-needed basis, the City will provide the Contractor with an order listing the locations of affected trees/shrubs requiring removal or pruning by address or in general order by streets. Pruning and removal operations shall commence no later than seven (7) calendar days after receipt of said order/list. Once on site, the Contractor must notify the City Representative when on-site prior to commencement of work. Contractor will be responsible to notify the appropriate utility authority prior to removing trees growing in utility wires. Contractor will be responsible for any damage to utilities occurring during the removal or pruning process. Any and all inquiries regarding this solicitation (other than the Equal Opportunity Programs) must be directed in writing to the Procurement Specialist indicated in the front of this solicitation. All questions or inquiries must be received no later than the deadline for inquiries indicated in the Schedule at the front of this document. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, permits, coordination, tools, transportation, travel, fuel, maintenance, supplies, manpower, and tolls and pay any and all disposal fees to complete the work specified in the contract in a timely and quality manner. Pricing submitted shall include all costs associated with this work. No additional costs or fees will be paid. The City will not pay for weekends or holidays unless prior written approval from the City Representative is obtained.
