The Peoria Park District is soliciting written quotes for the painting of Gwynn Family Aquatic Center Pool per description below located at Gwynn Park, 809 W. John Gwynn Jr. Ave., Peoria, IL. A. General Information: Gwynn Pool was last painted in 2023. Contractor shall power wash the existing pool basin with oscillating power nozzle with 3500 to 4000 PSI to remove loose paint, prep and patch the surface and joints, and seal and paint the surface. Owner will provide the paint and sealer for the project. B. General Scope of Work for Painting Contractor: The work will begin with power washing of the pool basin. The contractor shall power wash the pool using an oscillating power nozzle 3500 4000 PSI to remove loose paint. Contractor is responsible for sanding and feathering-out rough edges after loose paint is removed. Contractor is responsible for final surface preparation to ensure proper adhesion of patching materials and coatings. Following surface cleaning, the contractor shall perform concrete patching as needed to obtain a smooth paint-able surface. Once the patching is completed and cured as required by manufacturers specifications, the contractor shall proceed with the removal and installation of new caulk in all designated joints, totaling approximately 85 linear feet. After surface repairs and joint treatments are complete, the contractor shall proceed with sealing the pool surfaces. Contractor shall seal the pool surfaces using Amerlock Sealer according to manufacturers written instructions. Upon completion of the sealing process and in accordance with drying/ curing times, Contractor shall proceed with painting of all pool surfaces. Total surface area of the pool is approx. 7000 sq. ft. Contractor is responsible for field verifying. Contractors work shall be guaranteed for one year. Please note that the prevailing rate of wage including benefits for the Peoria area shall be paid for each craft or type of worker needed to execute this project or perform this work as required by the State of Illinois Department of Labor.
