Dane County invites proposals from qualified teams to deliver a comprehensive renovation of the Veterans Memorial Coliseum on the 164-acre campus of the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin. The selected team will be responsible for designing, building, financing, operating, and maintaining the Veterans Memorial Coliseum as part of a major renovation project. Qualified teams will likely include a developer or developers, architect or designer, construction manager, and arena operator, although one entity may perform multiple functions outlined above. The project is limited to the redevelopment of the Veterans Memorial Coliseum only; proposals for adjacent real estate development or for a new arena or venue will not be considered. The renovation is limited to the boundaries outlined in Appendix A, but the County will consider ideas that repurpose the current Arena (22,000 square feet) as a campus gathering space or as an entrance to the Coliseum. The County seeks proposals that address its stated goals and objectives and anticipates negotiating both financial terms and a long-term lease agreement for the operation of the Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Although both qualifications and financial proposals are required, final terms will be subject to negotiations and must be authorized by Dane County.
