Batson 5C Refurbishment . Section Includes: 1. All interior accessory windows (IAWs) furnished and installed as shown on drawings specified in this section (at Room C570). 2. All labor, materials, tools, equipment and services needed to furnish and install IAWs for interior security upgrade, meeting anti-ligature requirements, as well as sound, energy, air and/or light control enhancement of existing weather-tight windows. 3. Components furnished with installed interior windows. 4. Installation accessories furnished and installed. The University of Mississippi Medical Center reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any or all bids. Bid date notes: All bids must be sealed and plainly marked on the outside of the envelope: BID # 3749 2026397 Batson 5C Refurbishment The University of Mississippi Medical Center UMMC #2026397 " ' Batson 5C Refurbishment. Completion- 50 calendar days, A. Design Loads - Allowable Stress Design (ASD) 1. The design wind pressure for IAWs will be: a. +-10 psf positive and negative; +-10 psf negative at corner zones 2. All structural components, including framing members, hardware, and anchors, shall be designed accordingly. B. Air Infiltration/Exfiltration Performance Requirements: 1. When tested in accordance with cited test procedures, and with all purposeful vent holes plugged, windows shall meet or exceed the following performance criteria. 2. Air exfiltration maximum 0.3 cfm per square foot at 6.24 psf pressure differential when field tested at the owner's expense in accordance with ASTM E783. C. Simulated Human Impact Tests Conduct tests in general accordance with AAMA 501.8, to simulate a purposeful shoulder impact from the interior. Test units shall be representative of windows on the project in details of frame connections, glazing, and anchorage. (Refer to Paragraph 1.04.D below for structural analysis requirements for connections and anchorage.) 1. Test units shall be representative of the largest unit on the project (both width and height), or 4'-0" x 6'-0", whichever is greater. 2. Meeting rails and mullions to be used on the project shall be incorporated in test units, and similarly tested at maximum and minimum unsupported span. 3. Interior of each test unit shall be impacted with a heavy shot bag swung from a vertical height sufficient to generate 2000 ft-lb of impact, directed at the locations specified in AAMA 501.8. Center-of-glass impact shall be repeated if any plies break upon impact. 4. At the conclusion of impact testing, the window shall remain intact as a barrier to egress and meet the performance requirements of AAMA 501.8. 1. Install LVT flooring with 6" rubber base where shown. 2. Install new impact-resistant wall protection where shown on plans. 3. Install crash/bumper rails where shown on plans. 4. Existing ceiling grid is to remain -- remove existing acoustical ceiling tiles, salvage any colored/painted tiles and return to Owner. Install new acoustical ceiling tiles. Install new Armstrong Metal Blade Classic Ceiling System in Maple @ 8" O.C. w/square lay-in acoustical panels above -- see RCP & Specs. 5. Install new stainless steel corner guards at gypsum board outside corners where shown on plans. 6. Paint all walls/furrings @ all corridors, patient rooms, etc. within Limits of Work. Paint hollow metal frames adjacent to ptd. gyp. bd. walls (paint surface side of frame facing new ptd. wall surface). Paint all hoi. mtl. doors in, or facing, corridors within this Limit of Work (exist, hardware shall remain on these mtl. doors). 7. Existing patient room restroom floors shall be urethane epoxy coated, turning up wall 8" -- see Specs. 8. Replace any colored wall tiles, and any tiles w/ exist, shower seat anchorage, in patient room restrooms, with new ''Matte Stable 0052 (2)" -- see Specs. Where several tiles must be removed for tile repair, install new accent infill tiles in groups of 2 tiles x 2 tiles, 2 tiles x 3 tiles, 2 tiles x 6 tiles, etc. to leave wall in a logical finished appearance. Use accent tiles to repair walls where plumbing changes are made grouping tiles in full squares, rectangles, etc. 9. At completion of floor/wall finish installation, clean and reinstall exist, floor or wall bumpers @ exist, doors. 10. Replace/install certain doors and frames -- see schedule. 11. Fabricate/install new millwork as shown. 12. At all exist, smoke or fire partitions, seal around all new, or exist., penetrations in these walls per 07 84 00. 13. Other items noted on Drawings
