This is a public works project and is subject to prevailing wage requirements and the successful proposer, and each of its subcontractors, shall be required to comply with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Wage rates can be obtained from the District by request. All proposers, and all subcontractors listed in any proposal, must be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) pursuant to California Labor Code section 1725.5. The Project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the DIR. Contractors shall be required to provide payment and performance bonds for the project. All proposers are required to read and completely familiarize themselves with the terms and conditions of the RFP, and to submit all necessary paperwork as specified in the RFP, which is incorporated herein by reference. Contractors must have a B license. Firms submitting responses must be prequalified pursuant to Education Code section 17406. The District reserves the right to postpone the opening of proposals, accept or reject any and all proposals, and to waive any informality in any proposal, all as District deems to be in its own best interests. Questions regarding this Request for Proposals ("RFP") must be directed to Dr. Behrooz Danish and Mrs. Kenya Floyd at the email address below by the deadline listed in the schedule below. Interested firms or persons must submit their proposals, which shall not exceed twenty-five (25) single-sided pages, as described below, with one (1) electronic copy and three (3) hard copies of requested materials to: bdanish@slzusd.org and kenya.floyd@aecom.com Question Deadline 10/08/2025 1. The Work includes construction of two (2) new Classroom Buildings to extend the school program to Preschool, TK, and Kinder. The work consists of: a. Earthwork, site, and utilities demolition as illustrated in the contract documents b. Soils preparation as described in the contract documents as well as the geotechnical report furnished by the Owner c. Curb cuts to be coordinated with City officials on Ricardo Avenue d. Demolition of three (3) existing portable buildings e. Construction of two (2) new buildings (namely Building 600 and 700) to include classrooms, restrooms, teacher's workroom, janitorial and IT/electrical rooms. Buildings will receive slab on grade, wood-frame structure, engineered wood-trusses, and 2-layer TPO roofing f. Classrooms will be furnished with casework, visual display boards, monitors and speakers for AV integration, as well as card access control, as described in the contract documents g. Both buildings will be "solar-ready"; no installation of PV array is required at this time h. Building 700 will receive an automatic fire sprinkler system i. Installation of one (1) new private fire hydrant and associated components for water tie-ins off Ricardo Avenue j. Associated site work includes but is not limited to: flatwork, fencing, exterior lighting, bike lockers and parking, a new parking lot, as well as new outdoor learning areas with age-appropriate play structures k. Installation of one (1) Pre-Checked shade structure l. New planting and landscaping, as well as expansion of irrigation system currently in place. 2. The intent of these drawings and specifications is that the new construction in this contract is to be in accordance with Title 24, California Code of Regulations. 1.5 TYPE OF CONTRACT A. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract, through Lease-Lease-Back delivery
