Benton County Planning Division is accepting applications for the 2026 annual Comprehensive Plan Amendment cycle from October 1, 2025, through 5:00 p.m. on December 1, 2025. For more information about the Comprehensive Plan or application materials please contact the Planning Division at (509) 786-5612 or Planning.Department@co.benton.wa.us. The annual Comprehensive Plan Amendment cycle is an opportunity for residents, property owners, and interested parties to seek amendments to the County's Comprehensive Plan. Annual amendments can propose changes to mapped land use designations, policies, or any other components of the Plan. Additionally, Benton County will be accepting proposals from cities for possible amendments to their Urban Growth Area (UGA) boundaries. All proposed amendments regarding UGA's must be made by the cities, the County will not accept proposals from private individuals. A pre-application meeting with the Planning Division is strongly recommended prior to application submittal. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
