Demolition and renovation of an educational facility in Mobile, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade educational facility.

The work of the project includes, but is not limited to, all associated demolition, interior build-out, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems as described in the contract documents at the Bishop State Community College Carver Campus. Only general contractors that are prequalified may attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting and be allowed to submit a bid proposal for this project. Pre-qualification requirements: No proposals will be considered unless the bidder, whether resident or non-resident of Alabama, is properly licensed and qualified to submit a proposal for this construction in accordance with all applicable laws of the State of Alabama. This shall include evidence of holding a current license from the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama, as required by Chapter 8 of Title 34, of the Code of Alabama, 1975. In addition, non-residents of the state, if a corporation, shall show evidence of having qualified with the Secretary of State to do business in the State of Alabama. Prior to the award of a competitively bid contract to a contractor having one or more employees in the State of Alabama, Alabama law requires that the contractor provide the county proof of enrollment in E-verify. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Bishop State Community College in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and statutory labor and material payment bonds, insurance in compliance with requirements, and verification of E-verify enrollment will be required at the signing of the contract. A copy of the prequalification package can be requested and must be submitted by the established deadline.
