Site work for a parking garage in Tampa, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a parking garage.
The City of Tampa ("City") is committed to enhancing urban mobility and improving the experience for its residents and visitors. As a dynamic and growing metropolitan area, the demand for efficient and accessible parking solutions continues to increase. The City is seeking proposals from qualified companies to provide and install Automated Parking Guidance Systems ("APGS") to monitor and display parking availability within Fort Brooke Parking Garage (107 N Franklin St., Tampa FL). The selected APGS will be a comprehensive solution capable of monitoring parking spaces, disseminating real-time occupancy data to electronic signage, and potentially integrating with the City's digital platforms, such as its website and mobile applications. This project is envisioned as a foundational step towards a broader smart parking initiative. Therefore, the proposed system must be scalable and designed with the flexibility to seamlessly integrate and expand into other City-owned/operated parking facilities in the future, supporting Tampa's long-term vision for enhanced urban parking. Background The City of Tampa Parking Division operation inventory consists of 9 structure parking facilities (garages) and over 30 surface lots comprising over 12,000 off-street parking spaces. While the original focus of this project is for the procurement and installation of and APGS system in Ft. Brooke Garage, the Parking Division is planning to extend this system across our facilities for consistency and ease of access. Originally constructed in 1982, the Ft. Brooke Parking Garage is the Parking Division's largest facility. Spanning 10 levels and two city blocks, Ft. Brooke Garage provides over 2,500 parking spaces that serve monthly, transient, and event parkers. Located in the heart of Downtown Tampa, Ft. Brooke operates 24 hours per day and seven days per week to meet the needs of the surrounding land uses which include the Tampa Convention Center, Benchmark International Area, and a multitude of office buildings and commercial uses. Transient and monthly parkers can access the garage from East Whiting Street, South Florida Avenue, or South Franklin Street. For garage customers there is a pedestrian bridge that provides access to Tampa City Center and the adjacent hotel. Personal micromobility vehicle parking is provided on the south side of the garage next to the YMCA, there are currently six EV charging ports located on the 3rd floor of the facility, and the ground floor features diverse commercial activation from doctor offices, to restaurants, to the YMCA. Question Submission Deadline:December 1, 2025, 1:00pm online submission.Questions regarding Vendor Registration, accessing RFP documents or submission shall be directed to procurement-support@opengov.com
