DESCRIPTION OF WORK Work will include the improvement of 0.06 miles of Newton Falls Road by the replacement of an existing Steel Pony Truss structure with a new single-span superstructure and substructure including minimal approach work. Furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the project known as the Newton Falls Road Bridge Replacement Project PID 119501, in Paris Township, Portage County. Specifications and Bidding Forms can be obtained from the designated web service or from the Portage County Engineer's Office. Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. The project must be completed no later than September 26, 2026. Bid security furnished in bond form shall be issued by a surety company or corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety. Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. The basis of award shall be the lowest and best bid. DBE participation goals have been set for those certified as DBEs in accordance with TEA-21 (1998) and 49 CFR, Part 26, and qualified to bid with ODOT under Chapter 5525 of the Ohio Revised Code. Pre-qualification requirements: Only ODOT Prequalified contractors are eligible to submit bids for this project. Pre-qualification status must be in force at the time of bid, at the time of award, and through the life of the construction contract. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity.
