The Authority is seeking bids from qualified licensed contractors to replace damaged perimeter fencing and install new fencing at the former Beachcomber Hotel property located on the Authority's property at Cyril E. King Airport in Estate Lindbergh, St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands. Question Deadline 10/10/2025 at 09:30 PM AT - New Fence Installation - Add Privacy Screen to Existing Fence The Virgin Islands Port Authority ("VIPA" or the "Authority") is seeking bids from qualified licensed contractors to replace damaged perimeter fencing and install new fencing at the former Beachcomber Hotel property located on the Authority's property at Cyril E. King Airport in Estate Lindbergh, St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands. Price and Payment of the scope items shall be on a lump sum basis and include full compensation for furnishing materials, labor, and equipment for the following: 1. Installation of 618 linear feet of galvanized steel fence. New fence shall be 8 feet high with top pipe, 3- strand barbed wire, and bottom tension wire. Work includes demo and replacement of damaged existing fencing. Approximate fence sections and measurements are provided in Appendix (1) Former Island Beachcomber Schematic. The contractor shall schedule with VIPA Engineering staff for fence line mark out and measurement. 2. Installation of 804 linear feet of privacy screening. Privacy screening shall be installed on the new fencing and an approximate 186 linear feet existing fence section. The Contractor shall submit to VIPA the color options for privacy screening for selection prior to purchasing. 3. The Contractor shall make provisions to cordon off the work site and prevent the general public from entering the work site. 4. The contractor is responsible for the removal and legal disposal of all debris and cleanup of job site plus all paths taken to exit and enter the public roadway All work shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and United States Virgin Islands, rules, codes, ordinances, and regulations. Measurements are indicative in nature only to provide the contractor with an idea as to the scope and scale of the work to be provided. The Authority does not guarantee the accuracy of the information and it is the responsibility of the Contractor to familiarize themselves with the site. The Contractor shall bid on unit price items according to the measurements provided in the Bid Price Schedule. Variations in measurements shall be made at the unit price rate. The period of performance for this project shall be 30 days from execution of the contract and notice to proceed. The daily working hours are from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday except public holidays. Liquidated Damages will be charged at $150.00 per day.
