The City of Palm Springs is requesting Statements of Qualifications from qualified firms to provide planning and design services for a district-scale urban connectivity strategy and design solutions. This strategy will link the Palm Springs Convention Center (PSCC) with adjacent properties and the downtown core. Corridor strategy and design solutions must consider vehicular, pedestrian, alternative transportation, landscaping and other urban design considerations for the build out of the PSCC District (naming of District to occur as a result of Part 2). This new district will serve as a cultural, hospitality, and economic connector, enhancing visitor experiences, fostering local pride, and positioning Palm Springs as a premier destination for conventions, tourism, and community engagement. Part 1: Connectivity Strategy and Urban Design The scope of work includes the development of a comprehensive design vision and implementation strategy for an urban connector that enhances vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle access. The goal is to improve the user experience between the PSCC and its surrounding downtown context through thoughtful urban design interventions, placemaking, and infrastructure improvements that promote seamless movement, accessibility, and reflects the brand recognition developed in Part 2 (below). Part 2: Brand Identity and District Marketing The City of Palm Springs seeks a qualified professional marketing and branding firm to create and launch the identity of a newly branded district that will connect the Palm Springs Convention Center with the Downtown area. This new district will serve as a cultural, hospitality, and economic connector, enhancing visitor experiences, fostering local pride, and positioning Palm Springs as a premier destination for conventions, tourism, and community engagement. The selected firm will provide comprehensive branding, marketing, and communications services to develop a district identity, establish consistent branding guidelines, and deliver both short- and long-term marketing strategies. This work establishes the District and should include all the necessary components for the PSCC and the Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism sales and marketing use for several years into the future. These services may be collectively awarded to one firm (Joint Venture) or awarded as two separate contracts to two firms. This work will also include cooperation with the PSCC facility modernization Owner's Rep and A/E team (See RFQ 13-25 and RFQ 16-25). The awards for the Owner's Rep and A/E for PSCC are expected to occur in November and December of 2025.
