The City of Kewanee is soliciting sealed proposals for infrastructure improvements in the 100 block of North Lexington Avenue. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of sidewalk, curb and gutter, and related pavement restoration. The work shall include, but not be limited to, the following items: o Removal of approximately 1,690 square feet of existing sidewalk. o Removal of approximately 372 linear feet of existing curb/pavement. o Construction of approximately 1,690 square feet of new 4" concrete sidewalk. o Installation of approximately 321 linear feet of new mountable curb. o Installation of approximately 50 linear feet of B 6-12.2 barrier curb and gutter. o Construction of approximately 388 square feet of 6" pavement patching with a 3" asphalt top coat as needed. o Placement of approximately 250 square feet of 3" asphalt to match existing roadway. General Conditions o Contractors must provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the work in accordance with standard practices. o All work shall be performed in a safe and workmanlike manner. o Contractors are required to carry appropriate insurance, including Worker's Compensation. o Any alterations or deviations from the specifications must be approved in writing by the City prior to execution. Proposals will be evaluated based on cost, contractor qualifications, demonstrated experience, and ability to complete the work in a timely manner. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to award the contract in the best interest of the City.
