Bids are being solicited for a Street Improvement Project on behalf of the City of Fall River, under the direction of the Engineering Department in accordance with specified requirements. The project is regulated by Massachusetts General Laws and Massachusetts Prevailing Wage Rates. MBE/WBE businesses are encouraged to participate, and a 5% participation goal applies, requiring submission of compliance forms with each bid. The project is subject to bid deposit requirements and price adjustments for certain construction materials. Pre-qualification requirements: Each bidder must be prequalified in accordance with 720 CMR 5.00 by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, Highway Division, for the class of work "HIGHWAY - CONSTRUCTION" or "HIGHWAY - SIDEWALK AND CURBING," for a project valued at $1,040,445.00. Prospective bidders must have experience within the past five years on at least three similar projects, each at least half the magnitude of the current project. Bidders are also required to comply with OSHA approved safety and health training provisions and submit a bid deposit equal to five percent of the total bid amount. MBE/WBE compliance forms must be included. Sealed proposals must be submitted with the IFB number clearly marked. The City reserves the right to waive informalities or reject any/all proposals and is the sole judge of equivalency and acceptability. Only original and three copies, plus a USB, in a sealed envelope will be accepted as valid submissions. Bids received late will be rejected unopened. Bids are subject to M.G.L. Chapter 30-Section 39M and price adjustments as regulated by the MassDOT Highway Division.
