Renovation of a mixed-use development in Asheville, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Buncombe County is seeking candidates interested in designing a secure entrance for a priority school within the Asheville City School district. Services provided must include, but are not limited to: architectural design as well as mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering design for a three-tiered, secure entrance; development of a plan to incorporate the entrance into the current school footprint or build it externally; analysis of the life safety plan for the school to ensure egress is not affected; development of locations for door access controls and cameras related to the entrance; schematic design, design development, and construction documents for the project; bid administration; construction administration; and compilation of closeout documents. Prior experience in security design for public schools is encouraged. One digital copy in .pdf format of statements of qualification must be submitted in person or by email. Buncombe County encourages submittals from minority businesses by providing certified minorities an equal opportunity to participate in all aspects of the process.
