Renovation of a clubhouse / community center in San Carlos, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade clubhouse / community center.
**As of January 5, 2026 , this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on January 12, 2026.** Contract Awarded January 2026 Scope of work for this project includes all aspects of a complete commercial kitchen renovation including, but not limited to, the following Structural repairs, if necessary; Accessibility upgrades, if necessary, to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); Mold and asbestos remediation, if needed; Mechanical (hood and related fans equipment), electrical, and plumbing upgrades to improve functionality, reliability and energy efficiency; Upgrades to the food storage, preparation and service areas. All equipment shall be upgraded to commercial-inly equipment that is National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) approved. This may include, but is not limited to: walk-in coolers, freezers and other refrigeration appliances, cooking appliances, sinks, shelving, counters, food processing stations, preparation equipment, hoods and exhaust systems, kitchen furniture, warmers, and new flooring. Sustainability improvements to include sustainable building practices and materials into the project design. The City of San Carlos is seeking proposals from a team of qualified design professionals to conduct a comprehensive study of the existing commercial kitchen at the Adult Community Center (ACC), develop construction documents for its renovation, and assist the City during the bid and construction process. The goal is to improve the operational efficiency of the kitchen, address code compliance deficiencies, and enhance staff workspace. Areas of design expected are architecture, refrigeration, structural engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering. The City is seeking a design team with experience working on commercial kitchen installations. All interested firms are required to attend a Site Walk Meeting. Proposals must be submitted electronically, signed by the authorized agent, and received before the specified deadline. Late proposals will not be considered.
