Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; for outdoor lighting for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The Project includes the following Work: The Work for the project, NW Ward Road Improvements (Blue Parkway to O'Brien Road), includes, but is not necessarily limited to: Approximately 2150 linear feet of two-lane concrete residential roadway reconstruction of NW Ward Road and associated intersections with curb & gutter, sidewalks, driveway approaches, and roundabout at the intersection of NW Ward Road and Blue Parkway. Enclosed storm sewer system, sanitary sewer replacement, water main replacement, and street lighting as shown on the plans and indicated in the specifications. The proposed work includes: Reconstructing approximately 2,000 feet of Ward Road as a 2-lane roadway from NW Blue Parkway to NW O Brien Road with either bike lanes or an unmarked wide curb lane to accommodate bicycles. The project includes, but is not limited to, paving, sidewalks, curb and enclosed storm drains, street lighting, installation of water line, sanitary sewer and other livable street components. All bidders must be on MoDOTs Qualified Contractor List per Section 102.2 from the current version of the Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, including all revisions. The contractor questionnaire must be on file 7 days prior to bid opening A certified or cashiers check or a bid bond in the amount of 5% shall be submitted with each proposal. The City of Lees Summit, Missouri reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The DBE Goal for this project is 6% and 1 On-the-job trainee.
