Sealed bids are invited for the construction of a Solid Waste Collection Site at 16639 Highway Forty-Seven in Chase City, Virginia. The work includes approximately 3.5 acres of clearing; construction of a stormwater pond; grading of on-site soils (approximately 13,000 cubic yards); construction of a retaining wall, concrete pads, and bollards; construction of an attendant building with utilities, including a well and drainfield/septic tank system; site lighting; installation of new chain link fencing and gates; and asphalt installation throughout the site. All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope to the County Administrator's Office or uploaded electronically through the EVA website by 2:00 P.M., local prevailing time, on the specified deadline. Bids will be opened and read aloud in the County Administrator's Office immediately following the submission deadline. A bid bond is required. Procedures for submitting a bid, claiming an error, withdrawal of bids, and other pertinent information are contained in the Project Manual. Withdrawal due to error in bid shall be permitted in accordance with the Project Manual and applicable Virginia law. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids. An optional pre-bid conference will be held. The contract shall be awarded on a low-bid basis as follows: the Total Base Bid Amount including any properly submitted and received bid modifications.
