The City of Newport News is seeking quotes from qualified firms to provide demolition services for the structures at 2812/2814 Chestnut Ave. The contractor is responsible for the removal and legal disposal of all asbestos-containing material (if present and/or identified in the specifications), removal and legal disposal of all personal property from within the structures, demolition of the structures, removal and legal disposal of all debris, and clearing, grading, and seeding of the areas disturbed as per the specifications for the demolition of 2812/2814 Chestnut Ave, Newport News, VA 23607. Bidders are advised to allocate adequate time to submit their bids, as technical difficulties or uncertainty with the submittal process will not be grounds for accepting late bids. The Hampton Roads Planning District Commission's Regional Construction Standards, Sixth Edition, June 2016, are referenced and are a part of the bid documents, except as modified by the Owner or special project provisions. The City's construction standards, which are a modified version of these regional standards, are included as part of the attachments in the bid package.
