Questions must be received at least ten (10) calendar days prior to the bid opening date Unless otherwise provided in the contract documents, the contractor shall apply for, secure, and pay for the Building Permit as well as for the other permits, fees, licenses, and inspections by Government Agencies necessary for proper execution and completion ofthe work that are customarily secured after execution ofthe contract and legally required at the time bids are received or negotiations concluded, this may include but not limited to a Special Management Area (SMA) Assessment application, HRS Chapter 343 Declaration of Exemption, and HRS Chapter 6E reviews Contractor to obtain and provide services for the testing of existing roofing materials, mastic, and sealants for Asbestos Containing Building Materials (ACBM). Sampling and Testing to be performed by qualified personnel and certified testing laboratories. Sampling shall be coordinated with the DF&PS Coordinator present. Reports to be provided to the DF&PS for review, acceptance, and approval before any demolition work proceeds. Contractor to furnish submittals and shop drawings for review and approval prior to ordering ofmaterials and starting any work, this will include underlayment material, asphalt shingles, communication mast flashing, copper eave flashing, lead boot flashing, and sealants. Contractor to remove approximately 1,810 Square Feet (sf.) +/- of existing asphalt shingles, underlayment, and related flashing. Contractor to field verify material takeoff. Contractor to remove abandoned communication conduit roof penetrations and patch plywood sheathing. Plywood thickness should be between 5/8" and 3/4" thick Furnish and install new synthetic underlayment, contractor to field verify material takeoff. Furnish and install approximately 1,810 sf. +/- of new architectural asphalt shingle roof system, CertainTeed Landmark asphalt shingles or equivalent. Color to be determined by DF&PS. Contractor to field verify measurements Install CertainTeed specified corresponding starter shingles along roof eaves and rakes (Swiftstart(TM) and High-Performance Starter) or equivalent. Use roofing nails ofsufficient length to penetrate plywood sheathing Furnish and install approximately 52 ft. +/- of new ridge shingles, CertainTeed Shadowridge, or equivalent. Contractor to field verify measurements. Furnish and install approximately 104 ft. +/- lineal feet of new 16 oz. 1-1/2" Copper drip edge flashing at North and South eaves Provide Elastomeric Sealant. ASTM C 920, Elastomeric polymer sealant: low modulus: of type, grade, class, and use classifications required to seal joints in sheet metal flashing, trim and roof penetrations to provide a watertight roofinstallation. Remove and re-install hot water solar panels, piping, and racking to facilitate the roofing replacement work. Contractor to provide provisions in his bid to maintain Hot water service while solar panels are disconnected during roofing replacement Furnish and install lead boot flashing and at plumbing vent through roof penetrations. Remove and replace flashing at the communication service mast through roofwith new one piece boot pipe flashing specifically constructed for installation on Asphalt Shingle roofs. Submit manufacturer's data, specifications, and shop drawing for review and approval. Contractor to include in his bid the cost for coordination with the utility for the removal and re-installation ofthe utility service drop to the mast. Furnish lead boot flashing and compatible sealant at Solar Hot Water System piping penetrations and Solar Hot Water System racking studs to provide a watertight installation
