Site work for a water / sewer project in Lafayette, Colorado. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade water / sewer project.

The City of Lafayette is accepting bids for the Baseline Water Treatment Plant Upgrades. The work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, furnishing labor, materials, and equipment for the construction of upgrades to the Baseline Water Treatment Plant. General requirements include installation, insurance, and license. Bidders must provide a bid bond (5%), performance bond (100%), and payment bond (100%). Attendance at a mandatory pre-bid conference is required. Bid submissions must be made electronically. Question Acceptance Deadline 10/14/2025 08:00 PM EDT DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to furnishing labor, materials and equipment for the construction of upgrades to the Baseline Water Treatment Plant. Work includes, but is not limited to addition of a Filter Influent Butterfly Valve, Filter No. 1 Trough Replacement, addition of a Filter Backwash Piping Restraint System, Clearwell Influent Pipe Lining and Butterfly Valve Replacement, and construction of a Meter Vault Building. Work shall also include installation of all electrical wiring, process piping, associated site work, and all appurtenances required for a fully functional system, relating to the improvements as detailed in the drawings and specifications. Treatment and process area shutdowns will be required to complete the scope of work. All shutdowns shall be coordinated with City operations staff. The Contractor shall submit a detailed work plan/sequence for each shutdown and receive the Engineer's approval at least 30 days prior to the planned date of shutdown. For each approved shutdown, the Contractor shall submit a written confirmation notification 14-days in advance of the proposed shutdown to the City. Weekend and night work may be required. 1. Minimize shutdown times by thorough advanced planning. Have required equipment, materials, and labor on hand at time of shutdown. 2. Disruptions include, but are not limited to: a. Removing from service, restricting, or impeding the function of utility or water systems serving any portion of the plant facilities, and b. Delaying or denying access to any plant structure or area needed by plant staff to complete their work assignments. . Where required to minimize treatment process interruptions while complying with specified sequencing constraints, provide temporary pumping, power (including standby power for critical systems), lighting, controls, instrumentation, and safety devices. . Filter Influent Butterfly Valve 1. Work for this connection will be coordinated with the City for approval before start of construction and shall include means and methods to minimize Water Treatment Plant down time. Work must be completed prior to April 1 . Filter No. 1 Trough Replacement 1. Work for this connection will be coordinated with the City for approval before start of construction and shall include means and methods to minimize time filter is off-line. Work must be completed prior to April 1. . Filter Backwash Piping Restraint System 1. Work for this connection will be coordinated with the City and Engineer for approval before start of construction. . Clearwell Influent Pipe Lining and Butterfly Valve Replacement 1. Work must be completed prior to April 1 2. Work for this connection will be coordinated with the City for approval before start of construction dewatering of the existing effluent splitter box in preparation for the lining of the clearwell influent pipe, to minimize Water Treatment Plan down time. 3. Work to remove the butterfly valve and line the pipe will be allowed for a maximum timeframe of 18 hours. 4. Replacement of the butterfly valve can occur on a separate day for a maximum timeframe of 4 hours. . Meter Vault Building 1. The installation of the meter shall be fully planned and coordinated with the City for approval before start of construction and shall include means and methods to minimize time that storage tank is off-line. The meter may not be installed between April 1 and October 31. 2. Frost protection must be provided for 30-inch waterline and 8-inch sanitary sewer while site is excavated. . Sequences other than those specified will be considered by Engineer, provided they afford equivalent continuity of operations.
