For Asphalt Resurfacing Between Milepost A-104.23 and Milepost a-107.08 in Luzerne County This project provides for milling and paving of the asphalt overlay of the Turnpike Northeast Extension travel lanes. Asphalt resurfacing will also include milling of the travel lanes asphalt surface to existing concrete pavement, paving of a Superpave binder course to within 1.5" of finished grade and 1.5" of a Superpave wearing course. An additional 4' width of the right shoulder will also be milled and paved with reconstruction of the Sonic Nap Alert Pattern. Also the final application of Highly Reflectorized Permanent Preformed Patterned Reflective pavement markings for the travel lanes. Maintenance and protection of Turnpike Traffic is also included. Work items include, but are not limited to: 8,230 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, Wearing Course, PG 64E-22 10 to < 30 Million ESALS, 9.5 MM Mix. 16,935 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, Binder Course, PG 64E-22, 10 to < 30 Million ESALS, 19 MM Mix. 15,068 SY Milling of Asphalt Pavement, 4" Depth 82,036 SY Milling of Asphalt Surface to Existing Concrete Pavement EITHER 5,829 EA Holes Drilled (High Density Polyurethane Stabilization) AND 81,595 LB Polyurethane (slab stabilization) OR 2,915 EA Holes Drilled (Asphalt Stabilization) AND 46,626 Gal Asphalt (slab stabilization) 105,018 LF Permanent Preformed Patterned Reflective pavement markings (W, Y, & B), 6" 3,650 LF Permanent Preformed Patterned Reflective pavement markings (W), 8" Milepost A-104.23 is located approximately 1.1 miles south of the Wilkes-Barre Interchange, Exit 105, and Milepost A-107.08 is located approximately 1.4 miles north of the Wilkes Barre Interchange, Exit 105, in Luzerne County An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project.
