Question Deadline 10/27/2025 No oral interpretation made to any Bidder as to the meaning of the Contract Documents shall be considered an effective modification of any of the provisions of the Contract Documents. Written requests for interpretation of the Specifications shall be submitted to the Engineer at least 10 days prior to opening of Proposals. The work consists essentially of roadway earthwork, grading, paving, and the addition of curb and gutter along Highway 51. The contractor is responsible for performing all work and providing all plant, labor, equipment, and materials as required by the specifications and referenced drawings. Work must comply with all local, state, and federal regulations. Bidders must inspect the site, adhere to the outlined instructions, and inform themselves of local conditions. Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi Law with a current Certificate of Responsibility. Proposals must be submitted in duplicate, in sealed envelopes showing the bidder's Certificate of Responsibility Number, name, address, and project name. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond or Certified Check for 5% of the bid amount. The successful bidder must furnish 100% Payment and Performance Bonds. Work must follow the 2017 Mississippi Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, unless otherwise noted. Contract time is 60 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, with liquidated damages of $500 per day for overruns. Bid documents must be purchased from the specified website, and proposals are to be deposited with the City Clerk before the designated time.
