Remodeling of a clubhouse / community center in Skokie, Illinois. Completed plans call for the remodel of a one-story above grade clubhouse / community center.
The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of flooring at the Devonshire Cultural Center located at 4400 Greenwood Street. Bids shall be sealed in an envelope clearly marked Skokie District, Devonshire Cultural Center Flooring Project and delivered to the Park Services at 7500 Frontage Road, Skokie, IL 60077. The Work of this project is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/0.01 et seq. A prevailing wage determination has been made for the Park District by IDOL for public works projects in Cook County. The contract entered into for the work will be drawn in compliance with said law and proposals should be prepared accordingly and provide payment for all laborers, workmen and mechanics needed to perform the work at no less than the prevailing rate of wages for each craft, type of worker or mechanic. Question Deadline 10/13/2025 If the Bidder is in doubt as to the interpretation of any part of the Bid Documents, or finds errors, discrepancies or omissions from any part of the Contract Documents, they must submit a written request for interpretation thereof not later than three (3) days prior to opening of bids to the Park District. Site Scope: The scope of this project consists of the following spaces within the facility: Entranceways/Hallways: Removal and disposal of the existing 1st and 2nd floor hallway carpet squares, tile and cove base and all entranceway pedimats. The pedimats shall be removed and the voids filled and leveled with concrete and prepared for porcelain tile. The Bidder is responsible for procuring and installing Shaw Woven Chilewich Element 33755 and Florida Tile Tempo glazed porcelain floor tile (color TBD) or equal to or superior products approved by the Owner, per the manufacturer's installation recommendations where denoted on the facility map below. Additionally, the Bidder shall supply Tarket 4" vinyl cove base, color TBD, or an equal to or superior product approved by the Owner, per the manufacturer's installation recommendations in all areas where it has been removed. Bathrooms: Removal and disposal of the existing 1st and 2nd floor men's and women's bathroom tile from floor level to where drywall walling begins. Existing floor tile shall be skim coated with a leveler to accept porcelain tile. The Owner is responsible for the replacement of drywall and wall painting from floor level to where tile removal was completed. The Bidder is responsible for procuring and installing Florida Tile Tempo glazed porcelain floor tile (color TBD), or equal to or superior products approved by the Owner, per the manufacturer's installation recommendations where denoted on the facility map below. Additionally, the Bidder shall supply Tarket 4" vinyl cove base, or an equal to or superior product approved by the Owner, per the manufacturer's installation recommendations in all areas where it has been removed. Stairway: Removal and disposal of the existing 1 st to 2nd floor stairway and landing carpet and tread. The Bidder is responsible for procuring and installing Shaw Woven Chilewich Element 33755 and a commercial grade bullnose fluted stair edge. Additionally, the Bidder shall supply Tarket 4" vinyl cove base, color TBD, or an equal to or superior product approved by the Owner, per the manufacturer's installation recommendations in all areas where it has been removed.
