The County of Waupaca is requesting proposals for the procurement and installation of a 60" x 30' squash culvert The contractor is to work with Waupaca County and the Scandinavia Vikings Snowmobile Club to ensure the culvert is placed in the proper location - the site is within the City of Waupaca limits. See attached maps for site location. The squash culvert shall be galvanized steel with dimensions close to (71" x 47") x 30'. The new culvert should be embedded 4-6" into the bottom of the ditch with a mixture of sand and gravel used to fill and compact around the pipe. The final surface of the trail should be about 20' wide with banks sloping down such that about 1' of the pipe is showing on each side of the trail. The side banks of the trail shall be seeded to provide a vegetative cover to prevent erosion. There is access from both sides of the site so there should be no need for equipment to enter the water except the bucket end. Temporary silt fence needs to be placed near the water line on both sides of the new trail to contain any erosion until the vegetation is established. The DNR permit has been obtained, and the contractor is expected to follow the terms outlined within. Any proposal may be withdrawn or revised in writing prior to the deadline of proposals. After opening, no proposal may be withdrawn for thirty (30) calendar days. The Owner, Waupaca County, reserves the right to reject any and/or all proposals and waive all informalities or irregularities and, at its discretion, to require as a condition of acceptance of a proposal that the Proposer present information, satisfactory to Waupaca County, relating to prior experience and the Proposer's capabilities to perform the work in accordance with the contract documents.
