This project involves rehabilitation and painting of the 1 MG water tower located at 6445 Orangeberry Road in Hilliard, Ohio. Work includes abrasive blast cleaning and recoating of the entire exterior with full containment, the interior dry area, the interior wet area, various interior and exterior tank modifications, and other such work as may be necessary to complete the contract. The Engineer's Estimate for the Project is $2,280,000. No bid will be accepted if it exceeds the Engineer's Estimate by more than ten percent (10%). State prevailing wage applies to this project. There is no DBE goal. Additional technical specifications include removal of existing coatings and application of a new coating system (exterior, interior wet ceiling only, and interior dry spot repairs only). Exterior surfaces require SP-6 Commercial Blast Cleaning with full containment, the interior wet area requires SP-5 White Metal Blast, and the interior dry area requires SP-3 Power Tool Preparation. This 1 million gallon (1 MG) elevated fluted column steel water storage tank is located at 6463 Sugar Run Drive, Hilliard, Ohio 43026. The Orangeberry Road tank was constructed in 2000. The overflow water level for this tank is 148 feet above the top of foundation. The tank bowl has a 40 feet head range. The diameter of the fluted column is 52 feet, and the bowl diameter is 74 feet. There is a limited amount of paved and unpaved area inside the fenced yard to stage this work. City of Columbus access to the Orangeberry Road Tank must be maintained throughout the project. Storage of materials in the tank base is prohibited. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing electric power at the site.
