Demolition for a municipal facility in Washington, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility.

Remington & Vernick Engineers (RVE), on behalf of Washington County, prepared the following PreDemolition Hazardous Materials Assessment Report, as part of the Canton Township Blight Removal Project, for the demolition of the following residential buildings (herein described as the Subject Buildings) (see Figures 1 and 2) 100 Caldwell Avenue, Washington, PA 15301 (Parcel APN: 120-011-07-03-0032-00) 112 Caldwell Avenue, Washington, PA 15301 (Parcel APN: 120-011-07-03-0032-00) 3079 Jefferson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301 (Parcel APN: 120-006-00-00-0006-00) Washington County has contracted RVE to identify and inventory hazardous materials contained within the above-referenced Subject Buildings, which shall be impacted by any future demolition activities. The scope of this investigation included a visual survey, and the collection and subsequent laboratory analysis of potential asbestos containing materials (ACMs) and lead-based paint (LBP) within the accessible interior and exterior areas of each building. In addition, a visual survey and inventory of containerized hazardous substances (i.e., household paint cans, HVAC system anti-freeze, cleaning solvents, etc.), and potentially hazardous materials such as Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCB)-containing electrical equipment and light ballasts, mercury-containing thermostats/thermometers, and radiological sources were performed. Question Deadline 10/10/2025 Any inquiry received seven or more days prior to the date fixed for opening of Bids will be given consideration. Every interpretation made to a Bidder will be in the form of an Addendum to the Contract Documents, and when issued, will be on file in the office of the Local Public Agency and the office of the Engineer at least five days before Bids are opened. Bids are invited for the CANTON AND WASHINGTON DEMOLITION PROJECT NO. BMP 25-13. Bid documents are available electronically at no charge or as hard copies for a fee. Each bid must include a bid guaranty of at least ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount, in accordance with the contract documents. Minimum salaries and wages specified in the contract documents must be paid, and contractors must not discriminate in employment based on race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, or handicap. The authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any informality. Bids may be held for up to forty-five (45) days for review before awarding the contract. Contractors must be able to initiate work within 20 days of contract execution and complete the project within 60 days of the Notice to Proceed.
