Renovation of an industrial development in Bowie, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade industrial development.

The City of Bowie is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to provide all labor, materials, equipment, and demolition and installation services necessary to furnish, fabricate, install, insulate, and test all HVAC sheet metal ductwork, flexible ductwork, condensate piping, refrigerant piping, and associated components as shown on drawings and described herein. Bids will only be accepted electronically through the Bid Locker platform. Prospective bidders should carefully examine the instructions before submitting bids. Bids submitted by vendors who do not comply with the specified instructions will not be considered. All questions or requests for clarifications regarding this IFB are required to be submitted through online prior to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Specifically, three (3) existing split-DX Trane air conditioning units with gas furnaces, two (2) 3-ton units with 80 MBH furnaces and one (1) 5-ton unit with a 120 MBH furnace-will be removed and replaced with new, matching systems. The new units will utilize R-454B refrigerant and will include onboard leak detection capabilities. The work for this project includes supplying labor, coordination, and supervision to install these products in accordance with the Contract Documents and General Conditions This project involves the standard replacement of existing HVAC equipment. Specifically, three (3) existing split-DX Trane air conditioning units with gas furnaces--two (2) 3-ton units with 80 MBH furnaces and one (1) 5-ton unit with a 120 MBH furnace--will be removed and replaced with new, matching systems. The new units will utilize R-454B refrigerant and will include onboard leak detection capabilities. Work to include: o Removal of all existing refrigerant piping, condensate piping, PVC flue and intake vents, through-wall concentric vent assemblies, and thermostats. o Installation of three (3) new split-DX systems to match the capacity of the equipment being replaced. o Installation of all new refrigerant and condensate piping, flue venting, and thermostats. o Connection of all three (3) new systems to the City's web-based HVAC supervisory control system (refer to sheet M601 for integration details). The city's integrated provider is Boland Trane. (Contact Katie Kimmel 240-306-3256). o Replacement of existing outside air provisions. The current systems do not include motor-operated dampers at the actual outside air ducts. New motor-operated dampers and volume dampers shall be provided. o Air balancing of supply, return, and outside air for each unit by the schedules provided on sheet M601 General Mechanical (GM) values.
