Renovation of a mixed-use development in Pleasanton, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 140,000-square-foot, one-story above grade municipal facility; 140,000-square-foot, one-story above grade library; and 140,000-square-foot, one-story above grade fire / police facility.
Reference Number 0000400750 The City of Pleasanton is re-bidding the Fire Alarm Retrofit project as a formal competitive bid and is seeking a bid proposal for a turnkey solution for the retrofit and replacement of the City's existing fire alarm systems at the Public Works Department Corporation Yard, the Library, and the Police Station, covering 12 buildings and approximately 140,000 square feet. The scope includes reviewing existing systems, designing updated systems, obtaining permits, replacing fire alarm panels, adding dedicated electrical power to relocated panels, replacing all conductors, replacing and adding fire alarm devices as required, adding conduit where needed, patching and painting walls and ceilings, and painting new exterior materials. Minor changes to the fire sprinkler system for monitoring by the fire alarm system may be necessary in some buildings, and a paging/communication system will be added for the Corporation Yard facilities. The fire sprinkler main backflow device at the Library will be replaced with an above-ground device. Work must be conducted with care due to occupancy and security requirements, with special working hours for the Library and fire watch inclusion. Bidders are required to have certified payroll, contractor's license, undergo employee background checks, provide insurance, and adhere to prevailing wage requirements. Bonding requirements include bid, performance, maintenance, and labor/materials bonds. All issued addenda must be acknowledged in the bid packet.
