**As of November 17, 2025, the project was awarded to Zasueta Contracting, Inc but the awarded amount is not available.** The Contractor shall perform within the time stipulated the contract as herein defined, and shall provide all labor, materials, tools, utility services, and transportation to complete all of the Work required in compliance with the contract documents as specified in Article 4 below for the following Project: BID 363 - Playground & Rubber Surface Install Location of Contract Work Sites: The contract work sites are located at: o Imperial Beach Charter School - 650 Imperial Beach Blvd, Imperial Beach, CA 91932 o Nestor Language Academy - 1455 Hollister St. San Diego, CA 92154 o Nicoloff Elementary - 1777 Howard Ave. San Ysidro, CA 92173 o Oneonta Elementary - 1311 Tenth St. Imperial Beach, CA 91932 o Pence Elementary - 877 Via Tonga Ct. San Diego, CA 92154 Project Background and Description Statement: South Bay Union School District is initiating Phase 1 of a districtwide playground upgrade. The project involves the demolition and removal of existing playground structures and surfacing at six elementary school sites, followed by the installation of new or replacement structures and new rubber surfacing. All play structure materials will be provided by the District and purchased through a CMAS (California Multiple Award Schedules) contract. The selected contractor will be responsible for all labor, demolition, installation, and surfacing work. Sealed bids are requested for Playground & Rubber Surface Install. Bids must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or a Bid Bond in an amount not less than ten percent of the submitted total bid price. Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents, including the required security, non-collusion affidavit, list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation specified. The successful bidder must provide a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each equal to 100% of the successful bid, from a surety meeting California State requirements. The Director of Industrial Relations prevailing per diem wage rates must be paid, with these rates posted at the job site. All contractors and subcontractors must comply with applicable Labor Code provisions. Only contractors registered with the Department of Industrial Relations may be listed or awarded a contract. Bidders are responsible for all labor compliance requirements and costs. Minority, women, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to bid, and bidders are encouraged to seek and document DVBE subcontractor participation. Bidders must hold and maintain a valid General Engineering Contractor License #A. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive irregularities or informalities. Each site has unique needs that may include: o Demolition of existing equipment o Installation of new play structures o Reworking or refreshing select components o Installation of new Class 2 base and poured-in-place rubber surfacing Last day for questions: October 29, 2025, at 3:00pm, submitted via email to Francisco Franco, (619) 628-3590, Director of Facilities, ffranco@sbusd.org Timeline for project: Contract Dates: November 17, 2025 - June 30, 2026 On-site Construction Dates: November 17, 2025 - January 11, 2026 The contractor shall: o Remove and properly dispose of all old equipment and surfacing materials, as applicable o Prepare the site and install new or replacement play structures per manufacturer specifications o Add and compact Class 2 base prior to surfacing installation o Install poured-in-place rubber surfacing at all designated sites o Coordinate installation with the District to ensure minimal disruption to operations o Restore each area to a clean, safe, and finished condition after completion
