There is a 15% minimum Apprentice Utilization Requirement on this contract. There is a 10% minimum requirement for King County Certified Small Contractors and Suppliers (SCS) on this contract. The Cedar Hills Adjacent Properties Deconstruction project is part of the eastern buffer expansion by removing developed properties located between the west side of 230th Ave SE and the east boundary of the Cedar Hills Regional Landfill Facility (CHRLF). Cedar Hills Adjacent Properties Deconstruction and Demolition; by the King County Procurement and Payables Section Engineer's estimate: $1,594,000.00 Contract Title: Cedar Hills Adjacent Properties Deconstruction and Demolition Synopsis: The Cedar Hills Adjacent Properties Deconstruction project is intended to restore landfill buffer requirements on approximately 15.2 acres of privately developed property located between the wes side of 230th Ave SE and the east boundary of the Cedar Hills Regional Landfill Facility (CHRLF). demolish existing houses, garages, barns, accessories, and fences. remove concrete paths, pads, & driveways. regrade to match existing contours & hydroseed. grading - finish fill material to backfill foundation holes and prep for hydroseed. Work site: Between the west side of 230th Ave SE and the east boundary of the Cedar Hills Regional Landfill Facility (CHRLF) a. Qualified Disabled Persons 2% of the Apprentice Utilization Goal Question Deadline 10/14/2025 No oral clarification or interpretations will be made to any Bidder as to the meaning of the Contract Documents. Requests for clarification shall be made in writing via email to the Contract Specialist and cc the Alternate Contract Specialist at least seven (7) days prior to the bid opening date. b. Economically Disadvantaged Youth 7% of the Apprentice Utilization Goal c. Minorities 21% of the Apprentice Utilization Goal d. Women 25% of the Apprentice Utilization Goal A. The work description of this Contract includes the following: The Cedar Hills Adjacent Properties Deconstruction project is part of the eastern buffer expansion by removing developed properties located between the west side of 230th Ave SE and the east boundary of the Cedar Hills Regional Landfill Facility (CHRLF). King County Solid Waste Division (KCSWD) has acquired 6 parcels in this buffer area of the existing CHRLF. The project will provide for the deconstruction and/or demolition for all existing structures and utilities including decommission septic systems on the named parcels within the 15.2 acres; the removal of all deconstructed or demolished materials from the sites; and will include minor grading, hydroseeding, and minimal landscaping with the expectation of a return of the properties to a sustainable state of native vegetation. Once TESC has been complied with and as directed by the Deconstruction/Demolition Plans, all paving, concrete slabs, foundations, footings and/or basements/crawl spaces will be removed. Retaining walls will be cut and debris removed down to 18" below the projected finish grade. All concrete, asphalt, and gravel driveways, paths, and patios/lanais are to be removed This work is expected to require approximately 95,050 square feet (2.73 acres) of clearing, and approximately 3,288 cubic yards (CY) of excavation/backfill. In developing a Critical Areas Report (CAR) for the project, seven (7) wetlands along with three (3) unnamed streams have been identified within the project area. These have been appropriately flagged in the field. Their delineation and buffer requirements are available in the CAR and must be adhered to. Upon completion of the deconstruction and/or demolition, basic regrading to the existing surrounding site grades outside the buffer zones while conserving existing plantings as much as possible will be provided by this contract. The existing plantings and landscaping will be supplemented by hydroseeding and/or modest landscaping per the plans and shall be undertaken by the contractor under this contract.
