The work consists of furnishing all products and equipment and performing all labor necessary to complete street improvements in the City of Sylvania, totaling approximately 1.30 miles. The project includes milling, applying tack coat, asphalt leveling, striping, installation of thermoplastic stop bars, and traffic control. The allotted time for completion is thirty (30) calendar days and all work must comply with the plans and specifications provided. Bidders are required to submit a bid bond or certified cashier's check in an amount equal to at least 10% of the base bid. Performance and Payment Bonds, each for 100% of the contract price, will be required of the awarded contractor. All bonds must be from a surety company licensed in Georgia with an "A" minimum rating and sufficient financial strength, and must include a valid Power of Attorney. All bidders must comply with affirmative action requirements (41 CFR 60-4), and Section 3 Business Concerns are encouraged to apply. The project is also subject to Build America, Buy America Act (BABAA) requirements, mandating that all iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials used be produced in the United States, unless a waiver is granted.
