**As of December 2nd, 2025, the project was awarded to Putz Construction, with an awarded amount of $807,100.62** The provision and installation of a new market pavilion and site improvements as stipulated on the plans for the site and other necessary improvements at the designated location. Not less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages shall be paid to all workmen performing under this contract in this area according to the rates determined by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations of the State of Missouri. Bids shall cover all work as shown on the drawings and stated in Request for Proposal and Specifications. Bidders are strongly encouraged to visit the site to fully understand the existing conditions and requirements of this project. Bidders must submit one hard copy of the proposal addressed to City of Sikeston, MO Public Works Department, Attn: Jay Lancaster, PE., Director of Public Works, 105 E. Center Street, Sikeston, MO 63801. Negotiation is not allowed, and the lowest responsible bidder will be chosen. The City reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, to waive technicalities or deficiencies in any or all the proposals with sound, documented reason. All unsuccessful bidders will be notified. This project is tax exempt; a tax exemption letter will be made available upon request. Proof that a 10-hour OSHA Construction Safety Program, or similar program approved by the Department of Labor & Industrial Relations, has been completed by all onsite employees within 60 days of beginning work on this construction project is required. Contractors and subcontractors in violation of this provision will forfeit to the City of Sikeston $2,500.00 plus $100.00 a day for each employee who is employed without training. The City may withhold assessed penalties from the payment due to the bidder and/or any subcontractors employed thereby.
