Site work and new construction of a playground / park / athletic field in Sikeston, Missouri. Completed plans call for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
The scope of work includes the construction of new wooden park pavilions including all site improvements, such as wood framing, roofing, construction of concrete slab foundation, grading (as needed), and some minor electrical work as stipulated on the plans for the site and other necessary improvements at the designated locations. Bidders are instructed that prevailing wages are waived for the project for all bids under $75,000; for bids over $75,000, not less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages shall be paid to all workmen performing under this contract in this area according to rates determined by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations of the State of Missouri. The contract will be awarded based on the proposal that best meets the interests and requirements of the City of Sikeston, which reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, waive technicalities or deficiencies in the proposals, and will choose the lowest responsible, responsive bidder. Negotiation is not allowed. The project is tax exempt and a tax exemption letter will be made available to the successful bidder upon request. Bidders must submit one hard copy of the proposal to the City of Sikeston, MO, Public Works Department, for Bid #26-33, addressed as indicated. Central Park is located at the Northwest corner of Edmondson and Prairie Street . Any explanation desired by the bidder regarding the meaning or interpretation of the specifications listed in the Invitation for Bid must be submitted to Eric Chappell , Director of Parks & Recreation , (573 ) 475-3722 or via email at echappell@sikeston.org . No other information provided by others shall be anything more than informal information and shall not be binding upon the City , nor shall it furnish a basis for legal action by any vendor or prospective vendor against the City . All inquiries , whether written or oral , shall be submitted within the time limitations specified in the request for proposal .
