Bear Creek Water Treatment Plant Sedimentation Basins Number 7 and 8 Plate Settlers and Trac Vacs. Question Deadline 10/22/2025- Contractor may email Engineer questions at rjwood@rjwoodco.com. To receive consideration, such questions shall be submitted in writing to the Engineer at least 14 days before the advertised date for receipt of bids. The work to be accomplished consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, personnel, plus perform all the necessary labor to construct a complete and functioning project as follows: The Contractor shall remove and dispose of off-site the existing Tube Settlers and related items in Sedimentation Basins #7 and #8 and install the Authority-purchased Plate Settlers and related items, modify existing Trac Vac Header, install new Trac Vac cable drive, platforms, and electric cable drive units, and remove existing air operated Trac Vac sludge valve and replace with new Butterfly Valves with electric operators. Contractor shall remove only one Sedimentation Basin at any time and complete all work required to provide a functioning plate settler system as determined by the Authority and Engineer. The Contractor will be required to field confirm Plate Settler structural support member dimensions and Butterfly Valve operator dimensions and coordinate with Plate Settler manufacturer. Contractor will be required to coordinate all electrical power voltage and amp requirements with the Plate Settler manufacturer and provide a complete and functioning electrical system for New Butterfly Valve Electric operator, New Trac Vac Electrical Cable Drive System, and New Electrical Control Panels. Contractor shall hold a Utility Contractors License. The appropriate State of Georgia Utility Contractors License Number should appear on the face of the sealed bid envelope. Sealed bids will be accepted at the Authority prior to the bid opening, but no bid may be withdrawn after scheduled closing time for the period of at least 60 days, except as allowed by state law. All bids must be accompanied by adequate bid security (certified check, bid bond, or irrevocable letter of credit) drawn in favor of the Authority and in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price, which shall be subject to forfeiture as liquidated damages in the event that the bid be accepted and the bidder fail to promptly enter into the proposed contract for performance of the Project with the Authority. Award may be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder; however, the Authority reserves the right to reject all bids or any bid that is nonresponsive or submitted by a nonresponsible bidder. The Authority further reserves the right to waive technicalities and informalities in the Invitation for Bids and bids submitted.
