Sidewalk demolition consisting of the removal of cement, pavement, and earthwork with the installation of a compacted subbase. The scope of work shall include, but not be limited to, providing of all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the work outlined below and as shown on the drawings. The scope of this project includes the complete removal and disposal of existing asphalt pavement, concrete walkways, door pads, and stairs as designated in the project plans consisting of approximately 30 cubic yards. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to perform demolition activities, including saw cutting, breaking, and hauling away removed material to an approval disposal site. Following demolition, the contractor is responsible for preparing the exposed subgrade to a compacted subbase condition suitable for future concrete placement. This includes backfilling where necessary, grading, and compacting the subgrade. Provide loam and seed for work areas that are not receiving new concrete work, see plans. All work must comply with local codes and regulations. Prior to any work, contact Dig-Safe and local utilities to mark any underground utilities that may be present. The contractor must take all necessary measures to ensure safe and secure site conditions throughout the duration of the work. The contractor is responsible to remove any earth designated for removal.
