The project is expected to be awarded on November 10, 2025.** The project consists of widening the north side of Old Madison Pike from Hughes Road through Sunset Blvd., with the width varying throughout the project over a length of 1300 feet. The existing roadway is to be milled and overlaid from Plaza Blvd. and Brownsferry Road through the Sunset Blvd. and Old Madison Pike intersection and is to include storm sewer modifications and installation of new inlets. The project also includes the replacement of the traffic signal at Hughes Road and Brownsferry Road / Old Madison Pike. All work items necessary to complete the project must conform to ADA/PROWAG requirements. Contractors are required to meet MUTCD standards for traffic control and must provide access at all times to businesses and side streets within the project limits. Working hours are 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and project completion is required within 90 calendar days from the issuance of a notice to proceed. All work is to be performed per the general and technical specifications and plans contained in the Invitation to Bid packet. Bids must be sealed and submitted on original bid forms to the specified address by the deadline. Only properly licensed general contractors per Alabama law may submit a bid. No pre-qualification is required for this project.
