Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Madison, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

This project consists of the removal of the existing baseball backstops for eight fields at Palmer Park and supplying and installing new chain-link backstop fencing designed for safety and durability according to local codes and standard field requirements. All work is to be performed per the general and technical specifications provided in the Invitation to Bid packet. Expected completion date is February 1, 2026. PART 1 - GENERAL 1.1 MATERIAL AND INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS A. Contractor Responsibility: The contractor shall be responsible for removal of the existing backstops and for providing the equipment, labor, material, and installation of the new backstops as summarized below. The backstops must be installed as per the manufacturer's recommendations, guidelines, and instructions. Contractor shall coordinate with the Owner's Representative to meet the installation requirements. B. Fields 1. Upper Quad - Fields 3, 4, 5, & 6 2. Lower Quad - Fields 9, 10, 11, & 12 3. Contractor shall prioritize the completion of the Lower Quad backstops and begin construction on Fields 9 - 12 first. The Lower Quad backstops must be 90% complete before Contractor begins construction on the Upper Quad backstops. C. Demolition and Site Prep 1. Removal of 1,052' x 30' tall existing fencing/debris backstops. Site preparation and layout marking. D. Materials 1. 9-gauge bonded vinyl, 2" mesh 2. 3" OD DQ-40 40 galvanized steel posts (main uprights) 3. 1 5/8" DQ-40 top and bottom rails 4. Tension bars, bands, ties, clamps, and all necessary hardware 5. 9-gauge extruded bonded vinyl chain link E. Structure Dimensions 1. Total Length: 880' Height: 120" 2. Total Length: 928' Height: 96" F. Installation - General 1. Concrete footings for all posts 2. Fence framework assembly and fabric installation 3. Tensioning and bracing for wind load resistance G. Installation - Specific 1. Remove 8 dugout roof tops and reinstall with new green roof tops and posts 2. Remove and dispose of netting fabric and framework, 800' total 3. Remove and dispose of fence fabric and framework at 8 dugouts 4. Remove concrete curbing at 8 ball fields and reinstall 1,360' of new concrete curbing 5. Remove 10' of concrete slabs - install 10' of concrete slab at 2 dugouts 6. Take down and reinstall all electrical outlets and junction boxes at 8 ball fields 7. Install 928' of 8' black vinyl bonded 9-gauge chain-link fabric 8. Install 880' of 10' black vinyl bonded 9-gauge chain-link fabric 9. Install 60' of new netting with a 2" overlap onto the 10' fence 10. Fabric mounting system for dugout roofs 11. Installing 48 - 8 5/8" x 42' Black DQ-40 Back Stop Post 12. Set Post 10' x 24" in ground with 4500psi concrete/truck pour 13. Install 8 back stop nettings 22' x 150', #42HDPE TWISTED KNOTTED NETTING 3.75" Stretch Mesh Only properly licensed general contractors per Alabama law may submit a bid. No pre-qualification is required for this project.
