Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Mill Valley, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
This project is to install a new underground storm drain along Hillside Avenue between Bigelow Avenue and West Blithedale Avenue in the City of Mill Valley. As outlined in the schedule of bid items, the work generally consists of mobilization, traffic control, roadside concrete curb & gutter demolition and removal, concrete culvert removal, and installation of new 18" storm drain, installation of 2 drain inlets, installation of new curb & gutter, and patch hot mix asphalt pavement, clean-up of the project area, and other items of work as shown on the plans. Project is to be completed within Seventeen (17) consecutive working days from the effective date of the Notice to Proceed for the base bid. A Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount payable to the City of Mill Valley shall accompany the Proposal. Award of contract, if awarded, will be to the lowest responsible bidder whose proposal complies with prescribed requirements, and will be within thirty (30) days after receipt of proposals. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class "A" License at the time the contract is awarded. The Contractor shall utilize his best efforts to carry out this policy in the award of his subcontracts to the fullest extent consistent with the efficient performance of this contract. As used in this contract, the term "minority or women's business enterprise" means a business, at least 50 percent of which is owned by minority group members or women or, in the case of publicly owned businesses, at least 51 percent of the stock is owned by the minority group members or women. For the purpose of this definition, minority group members are Black, Hispanics, Asians, Native Americans, Alaskans or Pacific Islanders. Telephones will not be available to bidders for the preparation of bids or for calling in bid results. No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive any irregularities in the bids.
