Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Thompsonville, New York. Conceptual plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; and for the construction of a bridge / tunnel.
This rehabilitation project replaces the existing steel reinforced concrete deck and approach slabs of the bridge carrying County Route 161 over Route 17 with High Performance Concrete and appropriate steel reinforcement. Minor rehabilitation of other bridge elements shall be included where appropriate. Town of Thompson, Sullivan County. NYSDOT Region: 09 Southern Tier Construction is expected to be completed in Winter 2027/2028. As of October 15, 2025, the project is in Conceptual status. Anticipated letting Year is 2026. NYDOT : CR 161 Over RT 17, Town of Thompson, Deck Replacement *Project information has been obtained through a public state transportation improvement plan (STIP). A STIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the STIP often evolves based on funding availability.
