Replacement of existing asphalt paving and subbase, a small section of underground stormwater piping, concrete sidewalks and curbs, chain link fencing, ADA parking signage, and parking lot light poles. Removal of parking lot concrete islands and buried fence posts. Installation of a new concrete entry plaza with a stamped concrete school logo, a new painted steel gateway structure with concrete foundations, lighting, power and signage, decorative aluminum fencing and entry gates, black vinyl coated chain link fencing and gates, new light poles along the sidewalk east of the parking lot, a new parking layout to maximize the number of spots, and new parking lot striping for pedestrian traffic. ALTERNATE 1 (DEDUCT) In lieu of the base bid only provide the concrete foundations for the new steel gateway structure. Provide protection for anchor bolts sticking out of foundations until future gateway installation. ALTERNATE 2 (DEDUCT) In lieu of the fencing & gates around the tennis courts in the base bid do not provide 140 lf of fencing and associated gates. ALTERNATE 3 (DEDUCT) In lieu of the decorative aluminum fencing & entry gates in the base bid provide black vinyl coated chain link fencing & entry gates. ALTERNATE 4 (DEDUCT) In lieu of the base bide 15’ sidewalk lights along the east side of the parking lot do not provide any sidewalk lights or infrastructure. ALTERNATE 5 (DEDUCT) In lieu of the base bid stamped concrete logo in the entry plaza do not provide custom stamping and provide standard concrete. Alternates include options to reduce scope, such as providing only foundations for the gateway, omitting fencing and gates around the tennis courts, substituting different fencing types, omitting sidewalk lights or custom stamping on concrete. Bids must be executed on provided forms, submitted in duplicate, and marked appropriately. A 5% bid bond is required for bids over $50,000. The successful bidder must provide performance, labor, and material bonds, and certificates of liability and workers' compensation insurance. Each bid must include a sworn and notarized disclosure of familial relationships with the school board or superintendent. No bids may be withdrawn for 30 days after opening. Bidders must certify compliance with Public Act 517 of 2012, regarding Iran-linked businesses. Contractors must pay the prevailing wage rates. The owner reserves all rights to reject or accept bids as deemed in the public interest.
