Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Summerland, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 3,240-square-foot, one-story above grade municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
This is the first phase (Phase One) of a two-phase competitive procurement process. The first phase will evaluate the qualifications of all bidders. The second phase, (Phase Two), will invite the qualified bidders to provide a financial bid and an Indigenous Participation Plan (IPP) component on the project based on the specifications and drawings. Upon award of a contract in Phase Two, the pre-qualification list resulting from the first phase will expire and will not be used in any other solicitation. Work under this contract comprises, but is not limited to, the provision of all labour, materials, services and equipment for the construction of a new Pesticide Storage Building at AAFC Summerland Research Station, 4200 Highway 97, Summerland BC. The new building is a 300 sq m one storey building to be used for pesticide mixing and storage. The main functions are laboratory, garage and warehouse. There is also a large drive-through covered and unheated filling station. The scope of work of the project also includes furniture and fixtures (including laboratory casework and fume hoods), upgrades to the existing access roads, maneuvering areas around the building, demolition of existing crop services building, relocation of existing bio-bed system and new electrical and water services and septic fields. The project includes two phases of work. Phase 1 is construction of the new building, starting at contract award and completed with 52 weeks from contract award. Phase 2 is the demolition of the existing building, which is to occur in fall 2027 after new building is operational and upon receipt of SAR permit. To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated to cost approximately between $5,000,001.00 and $20,000,000.00 (GST included).
