Renovation of a parking garage in Santa Cruz, California. Working plans call for the renovation of a parking garage.
**As of December 29, 2025, no responses. No definite date for the rebid.** The project aims to modernize and improve electrical services (i.e. electrical, fire, and life safety equipment) of two (2) existing hydraulic passenger elevators. The prime contractor will be responsible for engagement, supervision, and facilitation of the electrical and fire/life safety work (performed by other trades), and related costs for modernization of the elevators. Modernization efforts include but are not limited to: All design criteria and specifications as noted in the Bid Form. All labor based on normal straight time hours (except as needed for change over of electrical services, fire/life safety testing, lobby risers, and other tasks that would typically be performed on overtime). Labor costs of standby for lectical work within the elevator hoist way or pit and which require operation of elevators by the bidder's personnel. Cab interiors upgrades - by allowance. Overtime labor required for hoisting, delivering, and positioning of equipment, including all expenses and subcontractors. Electrical work required for installation of the elevators from disconnect switches and junction boxes. All electrical work including disconnects, GFCI outlets, machine room and pit lighting. Fire Life Safety controls, devices and software upgrades. Additionally, the bid shall include: Modernize 601 Front Street Elevator Elevator Electrical & FLS Scope for 601 Front Street Modernize 1050 Cedar Street Elevator Elevator Electrical & FLS Scope for 1050 Cedar Street Please refer to the Bid Form in the attachments for a complete scope of bid items. Bidders shall review the attached project timeline and populate the "Schedule From Award" table, located in the bid form. All time limits stated in the Contract Documents are of the essence. Failure to complete the work on time may result in the charge of liquidated damages in the amount of $6,700 for each calendar day of the delay. Please refer to the Invitation For Bid document for a complete description of liquidated damages. The Project is to be performed at the following locations: 601 Front St. & 1050 Cedar St., Santa Cruz, CA, 95060. Impacts to the respective parking garage facilities will be minimal and the garages are expected to operate during construction. Background The hydraulic elevators in the parking structures 601 Front Street (Soquel/Front Garage) and 1050 Cedar Street (Locust Garage) are currently non-functional and require modernizations. The Soquel/Front Garage elevator was installed in 2000, and the Locust Garage was originally manufactured and installed in 1992. Both elevators are in very poor condition due to water intrusion and corrosion from age.
