The work for which proposals are invited consists of the reconstruction of an existing well that is deteriorating due to age. The project specifically focuses on the drilling of a new well near the existing well location, replacing the well casing and the well screen, while reusing the pump, pitless adapter, controls, and other equipment. Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal, a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety. Each Proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the Proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on the projects of similar size and complexity, and a complete listing of all subcontractors to be used. The Owner intends and requires that the project be completed no later than March 31, 2026. No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of this project. Additionally, Contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123 is required. Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Preble County as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce, Bureau of Wage and Hour Administration. The Village of Gratis reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals, to waive any informalities in the bidding, and to enter into a contract with the bidder whom in their consideration offered the lowest and best proposal. Document notes : An additional non-refundable handling charge of $15.00 will be required if documents are to be shipped. An electronic version of the contract documents is also available for a non-refundable charge of $25.00. The owner and/or engineer will not be responsible for full or partial sets of bidding documents, including addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the engineer. Proposals will only be accepted from bidders who have purchased the contract documents from mote & associates, inc. All questions must be received no later than 5:00 PM, November 6, 2025.
