Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Pierre, South Dakota. Completed plans call for site work for a one-story above grade bridge / tunnel.
Estimated cost is $1,000,000 to $1,200,000. The project consists of structure replacement, approach grading, and incidentals. Each bid must contain a certified check, a cashier's check or draft for five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, issued by a State or National Bank and payable to Hughes County, or in lieu thereof a Bid Bond for ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid by a Surety authorized to do business in South Dakota and payable to Hughes County. The successful bidder must enter into a contract with Hughes County in accordance with the terms of the letting and bid. Before commencing work, the contractor will be required to furnish surety in an amount not less than the contract price for faithful performance, with additional obligation to promptly pay all persons supplying labor or materials. Proof of liability insurance and workman's compensation insurance must also be provided. The Hughes County Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any defects therein.
