The work generally consists of the furnishing and installation of approximately 11,000 linear feet of new 8-inch cement lined ductile iron water mains within the existing service area. The project includes, but is not necessarily limited to, construction of water mains and appurtenances, valves, valve boxes, hydrant assemblies, water service connections, connections to existing water mains, excavation, backfill, restoration, site clearing, and all other associated work as contained in the contract documents. Proposals must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the work on the outside, addressed to the Authority, and accompanied by a statement of consent of surety from a surety company authorized to do business in New Jersey. All bids must be hand delivered and submitted in writing on the provided proposal pages; the complete set must be submitted at the time of bid. Each bid must include a certified check or cash in the amount of not less than ten percent of the bid (not more than $20,000), or a bid bond of equivalent value. Each bid must also be accompanied by certificates of experience and equipment, and a certificate of consent of surety from a bonding company licensed in New Jersey and listed as acceptable on federal bonds by the U.S. Treasury Department. The Authority reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities and to award the contract based on available funds. The successful bidder is required to comply with the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act, Worker Health and Safety Act, United States OSHA regulations, and requirements for participation of small business enterprises owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
