Reference Number 0000401937 This project entails the full reconstruction of a failed embankment slope located on westbound East Alexander Drive, between S. Haleyville St. to just east of the bridge that goes over Murphy Creek. The reconstruction operation includes the placement of seeding with a Class 1 - Soil Retention Blanket, combined with a Class 2 - Turf Reinforcement Mat (TRM). To prevent another collapse of the embankment slope, the adjacent landscape grass with its sprinkler system plumbing, between the back of curb and edge of sidewalk, will be removed and placed back with 1.5-inch southern river rock. The additional effort will substantially reduce water infiltration to this sensitive area. Lastly, the sidewalk structure will be removed and replaced in-kind. Work not specifically called for, but which must be accomplished to construct the project under this contract, shall be considered as a part of this contract, whether specifically detailed or not.
