Renovation of a water / sewer project in Auburn, Washington. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The Rainer Ridge Pump Station was constructed in 1980. Most of the property within its tributary basin has been fully developed, and the station has very little excess capacity. As such, there is a very short response time in the event of a pump failure, especially during peak use. Additionally, the PVC force main has had several breaks, and should be replaced. The initial phase of this project was examining the alternatives of rehabilitating the station, replacing major components, or replacing/relocating the entire station. The preferred alternative was to relocate the station to the nearby City property containing a storm pond. As of October 21, 2025, this project is included in the City's 2025-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). It is currently in the conceptual phase. A timeline for construction has not been established. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
