The Town of Antigonish invites proposals from qualified contractors for the supply and installation of an insertion valve on the 12-inch ductile iron water main on Hawthorne Street. The project aims to upgrade the Town's water infrastructure by providing a high-quality insertion valve that allows reliable shutoff and flow control with minimal service disruption. The successful contractor will be responsible for furnishing the valve and all specialized installation tooling, and for performing the installation, testing, and commissioning in accordance with manufacturer specifications and AWWA standards. All work must be completed before December 15, 2025. This initiative supports the Town's goal of improving system reliability and minimizing customer impacts. Proposals will be evaluated on technical merit, methodology, experience, and price; the Town reserves the right to accept or reject any submission and is not obliged to accept the lowest price. Project: Supply and installation of an insertion valve on a 12-inch ductile iron water main on Hawthorne Street. Tasks Include: Supply Mueller PermaSeal Insertion Valve (or approved equivalent) and all installation tooling. Perform live insertion into the water main with minimal service disruption. Hydrostatic testing (seat test to 350 psi) and bubble-tight shutoff verification. Provide as-built drawings, certifications (NSF 61/372, AWWA compliance), and commissioning reports. Upon receipt of an electronic proposal, the Town will reply with an acknowledgment email.
