The contractor shall provide all necessary equipment, labor, materials, and supervision to complete the replacement of depleted UPS batteries at the Seattle campus of the VA Puget Health Care System. Two uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), installed in December 2022 and January 2023 in Building 1, experienced battery depletion following delayed power connection attempts. The scope of work includes disconnecting and removing all batteries from the 40KW and 120KW UPS battery consoles, disposing of them in accordance with EPA guidelines, and installing new batteries with proper torque values and manufacturer-recommended connections. The contractor must verify that the UPS units operate correctly and that the batteries float a charge as designed. During installation, the contractor will inspect connection terminals, inter-cell connectors, cables, battery covers, containers, post seals, racks, and cabinets for any signs of wear or distortion. All accessible surfaces must be cleaned. Upon completion, technicians will provide a verbal summary of the work and battery condition, followed by a Field Activity Report within five business days. Battery replacement includes two Eaton 93PM 208V-20-120 units, each with 40 VRLA sealed batteries. Specific replacement items include PWHR12200W4FR and XPL5700FR models, both with active EOSL status. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
